Marie Doherty recently relocated from Gilroy, Ca., where she studied under nationally renowned artists Helene Barber, Alice Freund and Charles Muench.
Marie works in oil, pastel, watercolor and mixed media, and her work has been exhibited at the Gilroy Cultural Center, the Los Altos Art Club, the Sunnyvale Art Club, the Pacific Art League and the Triton Museum Art Show. In fact, one of her oil paintings was awarded “Best of Show” at the Triton Museum in San Jose.
Marie’s paintings are provocative and full of depth, often depicting landscapes and still life. A collection of her work in oil, watercolor and pastels will be hanging in the Amherst café for the month of October. An artist’s reception will be held on Friday, October 3 at 6 p.m.
