March Art in the Cafe: Janet Hymowitz

March 18, 2014

This month’s Artist decorates our café with beautiful paintings inspired by the natural beauty of both New Hampshire and Cape Cod.

Painting primarily from memory, Janet Hymowitz’s art evokes mood, feeling and beauty that our natural habitats offer. Using primarily watercolor, gouache and acrylic, Janet employs a variety of water media, augmenting her work with textural additives such as tissue paper, molding paste and gesso. Through her paintings, Janet’s intent is to allow the viewer to perceive the power as well as the healing and renewal that natural landscape provides.

Janet studied at the Sharon Arts Center in Sharon, NH and has exhibited her work at The Sharon Arts Gallery as well as The Jaffrey Civic Center. She has also held solo shows at the Amherst Yoga Studio, The Birthing Center at Monadnock Hospital, the Amherst Town Library and the Wellfleet Public Library.

With bold colors and strong composition, Janet’s paintings captivate the viewer and offer beautiful contemplation within the café. Be sure to stop by the A&E cafe to check it out!
