February Featured Artist: Samina Khan

January 30, 2013

Our next artist reception will be this Friday, February 1. From here forward, our artist receptions will continue to be held on the first Friday of each month, form 6-7pm. This terrific change allows us to keep the café open until 7pm on those evenings. We will still offer free coffee, tea, and snacks to attendees, or you may purchase any espresso, or latte-type drinks. And as always: You will be able to purchase coffee beans and teas.

Our February Artist, Samina Khan graduated from the National College of Arts in Pakistan. This college played a major role in developing her creative skills. One of her sculptures called “NCA Hallways” is inspired by the hallways of this college, a place where she used to sketch and walk to the art exhibitions of many famous artists. She has worked as a Web/ Graphic Designer for Northport Systems in Nashua and A+ Dental Restorations Inc, MA. She created logos that became the base for Northport’s product lines called KYAServe and Gizmo-Net. After finishing her Web programming certificate courses she is currently working as an art teacher at the Academy of Science and Design, Nashua, NH.

Khan won three awards at juried art shows in Mansfield, MA: 1st place, 2nd place and Best of Show.

“I absolutely adore my students and feel extremely lucky being able to teach them what I love, Art and Design” says Khan.

Don’t miss this chance to enjoy her work, and mingle with friends and community here at the café on Friday night.
